Research
GCCEI investigates environmental systems through six connected research areas. The fields are separated for clarity, but the work is intentionally interdisciplinary.
Pyrolysis & Thermochemical Conversion
Pyrolysis is examined as a system: feedstock, reactor, conditions, products, energy, emissions, controls, residues, operating reality and final use.
Carbon & Energy Recovery
Research follows carbon and energy through recovery, use, displacement and final fate, distinguishing recovered outputs from avoided environmental burdens.
Environmental Pathways
GCCEI examines how substances move from source through dispersion, transformation, deposition, exposure and potential consequence.
Waste & Resource Systems
Waste is treated as a system of materials rather than one material. Collection, segregation, recycling, recovery, treatment, residuals and disposal are examined together.
Comparative Thermal Treatment
Thermal systems are compared on common feedstock, system boundaries, operating conditions, controls, products, residues and realistic alternatives.
Materials & Feedstocks
Material comes before machinery. Research covers plastics, rubber and tyres, biomass, bio-organics, specialist medical waste, moisture, ash, chlorine, metals, contamination and variability.
The question comes first. Technology, data and conclusion follow.
