Geneva

GCCEI is based in Geneva, Switzerland.

The significance of Geneva to GCCEI is institutional rather than scenic. The city forms part of an international ecosystem in which environmental questions intersect with science, public policy, diplomacy, research, education, humanitarian concerns and multilateral governance.

For an institute concerned with understanding, evidence, education and governance, that environment provides a natural international context.

GCCEI's Geneva identity should therefore be expressed through institutional seriousness: connection, inquiry, policy literacy, international cooperation and research. The website should avoid tourism-led presentation and should not allow scenery to substitute for purpose.
